Sarah McLachlan Splits From Husband

Sarah McLachlan is separating from husband, Ashwin Sood, after 11 years. ""I haven't said anything about it because I've been terrified," Sarah said, "But I figure ... there's no good time to say it, so I just said it."

The Canadian singer describes the circumstances of the split to Billboard.com as "pretty gross." The couple has two daughters, India Ann Sushil, 6, and Taja Summer, 14 months.

Sarah put her pain into her work. McLachlan's latest album of greatest hits, Closer: The Best of Sarah McLachlan, will include two songs about the breakup.

"Don't Give Up on Us [is] pretty self-explanatory," she says, "Basically [it's] just a plea to give it another chance and keep trying."

McLachlan's new album is set to release on October 7.

Posh & Marc Jacobs: Short Hair, Shorter Skirts!

Victoria Beckham is still showing off her new 'do at fashion week in New York -- while she and her friend, designer Marc Jacobs, both show off their short skirts!

Last night, the dynamic duo hit up a party held by Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley at Morgans Hotel on Madison Ave.

"I get bored very, very quickly and I just fancied a change," the Posh star told the London Daily Mail.

To make the cut, she reportedly sought out NYC celebrity hairstylist Garren, who said in a statement: "It was clear that we had to go short and create a new look that embraced her beauty, great personality and body."

Christina Applegate to Present at Emmys

Christina Applegate will be a presenter at this month's Primetime Emmy Awards, just weeks after undergoing major breast cancer surgery.

Christina revealed last month that she underwent a double-mastectomy to treat her breast cancer, but then declared herself cancer-free.

Applegate herself is nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of Samantha Newly on ABC's "Samantha Who?."

Other presenters announced today were Candice Bergen, David Boreanaz, Wayne Brady, Lauren Conrad, Jimmy Kimmel and Kiefer Sutherland.

The "60th Primetime Emmy Awards" airs on ABC September 21 at 8 p.m.

'House' Brings Home the Bacon

"House" star Hugh Laurie is joining the ranks of Ray Romano and the cast of "Friends" as one of the highest paid TV actors in history.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the native Brit, who plays the crabby Dr. Gregory House on the hit FOX show, will now be taking home a $400,000 paycheck per episode, earning him a $9 million a year salary.

Along with the pay hike, the Emmy-winning actor's new deal also ensures he will stay on through the 2011-2012 season.

Heidi Klum Says No J.Lo on 'Project Runway'

Jennifer Lopez just can't make it work. Heidi Klum revealed that the superstar will not be able to perform as guest judge on the "Project Runway" season finale, ET confirms.

"Jennifer Lopez was going to be our guest judge, [but she] cancelled yesterday due to a foot injury," Heidi told the crowd at Bryant Park as the finalists' show got underway.

"A great five years at Bravo comes to an end today, thank you so much, you did a beautiful job putting the show on the network," the Emmy-nominated host added. Next season, the show moves to Lifetime.

In lieu of J.Lo, the special guest judge will be none other than the show's mentor, fashion guru Tim Gunn.

"I'm happy to fill in last minute and will be impartial and unbiased to the designers," he said.

Audrina Blogs on Her Make-Up with Lauren

If you caught last night's episode of "The Hills," you saw roomies Audrina Patridge and Lauren Conrad's touching reconciliation. What did Audrina really think of their reunion? Well, she's blogging about it today to let us know!

"Last night's episode of 'The Hills' was intense," she writes. "I think that's the third time I've cried so far on the show!!! Haha! I'm so glad Lauren and I had that talk."

Why the need for such a sit-down? Audrina blogs, "There were a lot of little things that just kept adding to the tension. The new living situation, the new friend/roomie, the rumors you read and hear about in magazines and on gossip sites, moving on in the industry on my own, the whole flirtyness with certain someones that was uncalled for, and only being a true friend when it was called for were all building up. It was these and many other things that kept adding to the fire, and eventually led to the breakdown which included tears and big decisions."

Now that she and Lauren are back on good terms, Audrina has high hopes for the latest season of her MTV hit show, "I feel that in the fourth season things have changed so much and continue to keep changing. It's going to be a good season, don't you think? :)"
