The Canadian singer describes the circumstances of the split to Billboard.com as "pretty gross." The couple has two daughters, India Ann Sushil, 6, and Taja Summer, 14 months.
Sarah put her pain into her work. McLachlan's latest album of greatest hits, Closer: The Best of Sarah McLachlan, will include two songs about the breakup.

Audrina Blogs on Her Make-Up with Lauren
If you caught last night's episode of "The Hills," you saw roomies Audrina Patridge and Lauren Conrad's touching reconciliation. What did Audrina really think of their reunion? Well, she's blogging about it today to let us know!
"Last night's episode of 'The Hills' was intense," she writes. "I think that's the third time I've cried so far on the show!!! Haha! I'm so glad Lauren and I had that talk."
Why the need for such a sit-down? Audrina blogs, "There were a lot of little things that just kept adding to the tension. The new living situation, the new friend/roomie, the rumors you read and hear about in magazines and on gossip sites, moving on in the industry on my own, the whole flirtyness with certain someones that was uncalled for, and only being a true friend when it was called for were all building up. It was these and many other things that kept adding to the fire, and eventually led to the breakdown which included tears and big decisions."
Now that she and Lauren are back on good terms, Audrina has high hopes for the latest season of her MTV hit show, "I feel that in the fourth season things have changed so much and continue to keep changing. It's going to be a good season, don't you think? :)"

A new light shines on 'The Dark Knight!'
Warner Bros. studios reportedly plans to re-release the record-breaking Batman sequel in January, right in time for Oscars' voting season!
"It's just a matter of bringing it back as a reminder for people," a studio insider told The Hollywood Reporter.
Warner Bros. domestic distribution president Dan Fellman acknowledged that Imax executives were in talks to restore the film to show on a much larger screen in January, says the publication.
The blockbuster success of 'The Dark Knight' has aroused Oscar buzz for possible nominations in directing, producing, and acting -- especially for the late Heath Ledger who played the Joker in the film.
The film, which is the second highest-grossing movie ever after 'Titanic,' has grossed $512 million domestically and $440 million internationally.

The first book in the series is scheduled to hit stores summer of 2009.
Rob Lowe: Allegations Are Hurting My Work Prospects
Actor Rob Lowe reiterates in a sworn declaration that he never "acted inappropriately" with two former nannies and says allegations by the women are costing him considerable work opportunities, City News Service reports.
Lowe and his wife Sheryl sued the ex-nannies, Laura Boyce and Jessica Gibson, in April for allegedly breaching confidentiality agreements with the celebrity couple. Both women then countersued the Lowes.
The actor states that the allegations, coming after claims already made by Gibson, are costing him a lot of money. "Since the headline that a second nanny sued me for sexual harassment, I have been passed over for at least three commercials, any of which could have ultimately resulted in income of over $1 million," Lowe says.
"I have never acted inappropriately with Ms. Gibson or Ms. Boyce," Lowe states in a declaration filed Wednesday with Judge Maureen Duffy-Lewis in Los Angeles, according to City News Service. The declaration is in support of Lowe's opposition to a motion by Boyce to dismiss his lawsuit.
Boyce has moved to dismiss the celebrity couple's lawsuit on grounds that it infringes on her right to free speech. Boyce is also getting some help with her motion in the form of a court declaration from Gibson, who is involved in separate dueling lawsuits with the Lowes in Santa Barbara.

"What I did I can't explain it, except that I know that what I can do today to make it better for myself. It's the craziest thing," Tatum tells Oprah.
Tatum also reveals that Farrah Fawcett helped her through her tough time: "I saw her once, about a year and a half ago when I was sort of trying to be encouraging about her diagnosis. We had sort of a bonding. And then, she sort of heard about it and wanted to know if I was doing ok. I was very taken aback."

Tony Romo Helps Stranded Fans!
When helplessly stranded with a flat tire, one may look at the person who helps them out as a star. And for a lucky Texas couple, that star was Tony Romo!
The Dallas Cowboy quarterback's interstate interception came just in time to help Bill and Sharon White on Sept. 7 in Texas, when Romo arrived to find the couple feverishly attempting to make the repairs themselves, People reports.
"All of a sudden I hear a voice say, 'Do you need help?'" Sharon tells People.
Unbeknownst to them initially, it was Jessica Simpson's famous beau who helped them inflate their tire.
"At that point, I looked at him and thought, 'Dang, he looks familiar,'" Sharon continues. "I go, 'You know what? You look like Tony Romo.' He looked down and just gave me that boyish smile he's got. Then he said, 'That's because I am.'"
"I just screamed as loud as I could," Sharon tells People. "Then I grabbed him and hugged him."
So taken aback by the star encounter, the couple say they forgot to thank Romo for his help.
"I'd thank [Tony] so much for stopping," Sharon says. "I love him to death, he's a great guy. And I hope I didn't bust his eardrum!"
Michael Phelps Nervous About 'SNL' Freestyle
Olympic superstar and record-breaker Michael Phelps may be the epitome of grace and poise when he's battling for world titles in the Olympic pool, but now something is giving him a case of the nerves -- acting!
The swimming gold-medal champ said Thursday he was nervous about his "Saturday Night Live" acting debut this weekend, Reuters reports.
Phelps, 23, will be the guest host of the comedy show on its 34th season's opening episode Saturday.
"I'm probably more nervous doing this than I was swimming in the Olympics," the swimming icon tells Reuters.
He is, however, confident his wit and sarcasm will carry him through the funny show.
And he's done his research too! Phelps has enlisted the advice of "SNL" veteran Adam Sandler, and tips from actors Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, says Reuters.
At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Phelps won a record eight gold medals in a single game, bringing his total gold-medal count to 14.
Conan O'Brien Stalker Checks Out of Treatmen
Against his church's wishes, the Boston priest who stalked talk-show host Conan O'Brien has checked himself out of a treatment center.
The New York Daily News reports that Rev. David Ajemian had been at the facility since pleading guilty in the matter back in April.
The 48-year-old confessed to sending O'Brien many packages and letters, and even referring to himself as the comic's "most dangerous fan," says the paper.
Ajemian, who was ordered to stay at the facility by his church, was suspended from the priesthood for disobeying the order of Cardinal Sean O'Malley.
"Our understanding is that he plans initially to return to Massachusetts to the care of his family," the archdiocese said in a statement to the paper.
Leaving the treatment center does not violate Ajemian's legal restrictions, which only ban him from contacting O'Brien.

Police: Gary Coleman allegedly hits pedestrian after an argument!
Actor Gary Coleman was involved in a car accident in Utah in which a 24-year-old pedestrian suffered minor injuries, after police say Coleman and the 24 year old got into an alleged argument.

Bill Wright as saying. Reston was taken to a hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, Wright said.
Witnesses told police the actor became irritated after Reston photographed him and the two argued in the bowling alley before moving outside.
Wright said neither Coleman nor Reston were cooperative at the scene and added that there were "indications" that alcohol was a factor in the incident. No citations were issued.
